The beautiful Cardinal

God Bless! Here is my letter for this month to our kids. So this letter is about the bird the Cardinal. I love that We can share our crazy hobby of birding with our kids.  I encourage you to share about things you love. For me and my husband it’s God, family and birding. As always feel free to copy and uses for your kids. Be inspired!

I was thinking about another one of our favorite birds today. The Cardinal is a Beautiful bird that stays in our area all year long. The male is a bright red color wile the female is a tan with a little red. They come to our feeders normally at dusk right before the sun sets. Also when the sun gets low in the spring the call to one another. I love falling asleep to cardinals singing. One of my favorite facts of this bird is the male feeds the female during spring season. Just like God design us to have spouses cardinals stay together for life. Only finding a new parter if the other one dies. I like that they share building of there nests. But after the eggs are laid the male will defend and feed the female till they hatch. Then the male takes on the responsibility of feeding and raising the chicks.  Also their red color comes from the food they eat. There are a few cases in the USA where this bird has been found to be yellow. Experts say it is because their diets are different. Cardinals have a fun crest on their head that gives them a cool  personality. Another cool thing  is that they’re named after The catholic  cardinal in the Christian faith. Because their clothes they were a red just like the beautiful bird.

The color red makes me reflect on a few things.. It reminds me of the sacrifice Christ paid on the cross. The love God poured out on us with the sacrifice of Christ is powerful. Jesus is our salvation and because of His death and resurrection we are set free. We pray  as you reflect of Gods love for you that you trust in Him daily.

We love you and are blessed to have you in lives. Praying for you always and God bless. Sending you photos of the cardinal. Also a coloring page with one I colored also. Enjoy!
