dove of peace (Sri Lanka)

This is a new journey for me, writing letters for areas where religion is a little bit more restricted. So this will be my first letter that’s modified for Sri Lanka. Feel free to take a look at my other post for the Dove of peace if you’re looking for more spiritual letter. This one’s also spiritually worded but a little bit differently.  as always, feel free to copy and use my letters. Combined both whatever works for you it’s all about our love for the kids we write.  Be inspired God bless

Hello our dear friends! Was sitting and thinking of you today and wanted tell you that we love you. As we’re heading into spring on this side of the world I think about how much Mark and I love birding. So I wanted to do another bird letter about the dove. Here in Wisconsin we have a bird called the mourning dove. There are all different types of doves found all over the world. In general, the dove represents peace.

I love the image of the dove and peace.  When we live in peace, I feel God‘s presence in the world around us.  When I struggle, God‘s peace uplifts me. I went through a medical problem last year, and I felt his protection.

I love the power that I feel from protection. The hope that it gives me when I’m washed in love. In our lives being made clean by grace gives me hope. Grace by forgiveness by loved ones, by friends and people in the community when I make a mistake. I see Gods grace when I see the world around me.

The Dove also symbolizes purity and its gentle nature reminds me of the empowering, feeling of love. Love is a powerful thing and we want to  let you know that even though we just met you, we love you. We pray that you would feel the love that is covered over you through prayer. Jesus loves everybody from one end of the Earth to the other. It is comforting to know that he loves us all. And then in some of my darkest moments, the purity and thought of that gives us comfort.

Another thing when I think about the Dove is new beginnings. I think a lot about the truth that up hold us in our lives. From the creation of the world, the formation of the mountains, the seas and the skies. In our lives when I think about new beginnings, I think about all that God has done for us. We each go through trials in our lives and the thing that upholds us is that when we feel that there’s no hope God is there for us.

We love you and pray as you head into this week that you feel the peace that is provided for you through family friends and us from on the other side of the world. We love you and we’re praying for

Love always mark and Laura

dove of peace

Hello my writing friends. This month I’m writing another bird letter about the mourning dove. I’m also starting a new journey where I’ll be writing a letter for more restricted area Sri Lanka. I will make another post with letter for those special kids. As always, feel free to copy and use my letters. God bless and be inspired. This letter in this post will be my more faith-based one. The other one for Sri  Lanka is also spiritual, but worded differently.

But in the Bible, there are a few passages where a dove is mentioned that I want to talk to you about.

The Holy Spirit at Jesus' Baptism Matthew 3:16 and Noah's Ark in Genesis 8:8-12.

I wanna start with Matthew 3:16-17.

As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

When I think about these verses, they give me a vivid imagine.

The Symbol of the Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit is often associated with a dove in christianity, representing peace, purity, and the presence of God. The dove’s gentle nature reflects the Holy Spirit’s work in guiding and empowering believers. The Holy Spirit is a gift from God, comforting us and guiding us. When you accept Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes into you and it guides you comforts you and gives you direction. The gift of the Holy Spirit the great comforter is something that you can lean and trust on.

The other Bible verses in Genesis 8:8-12 is another great example of a dove in the Bible.

After the flood, Noah sent out a dove to see if the waters had receded. When it returned with an olive leaf, it symbolized peace and God’s restoration. God uses this bird to remind us of Gods truth He never leaves us or forsakes us. In Noah’s time there was great evil and when you take the time to read Genesis, you will see that Noah had to build an ark to save humanity. And God use the dove to let them know when the water is receded and that Noah’s family and the animals on the ark could go back on land.

We pray as you go into this week that you see the beauty around you from the birds, the trees, the land and the sea . That you would trust in him who gives life and that you would see the beauty around you as a gift. We are are doing well and enjoying the blessing God has given us which includes you!

We love you and are praying for you

Love mark and Laura
