Hello and God bless! My may letter is a continuation of my letters Series names of God. This one was a harder to write but the message is true. I Pray as you head into this week you take the time to pray for your kids and write them. The more I am on this journey with my kids, the more I realize how important writing to them is. Never doubt yourself that your letters mean something to your kids. May God give you inspiration. God bless and be inspired.
What a wonderful day the Lord has made! We pray you are doing well and that you are trusting in the Lord our Savior. We think of you often and love writing you. I want to continue in our letter series of Gods names. The next one I want to write to you about is Jehovah Jireh. In Genesis 22:14 God is called Jehovah Jireh and this means our provider. I want to write to you about how God is our provider. In genesis chapter 22 the Lord leads Abraham to do a hard thing. He tells him he needs to sacrifice his son Isaac. It must’ve been very hard for Abraham to follow God‘s voice in regards to this. Abrahams, love for his son was very deep as would be for any parent. He takes his son on a journey. In genesis 22:1-2 God speaks directly to Abraham, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Abraham’s confident as you read the chapter that God will provide. He takes the journey with his son walking in the mountains and carrying the wood on his back. In 22:7 Isaac questions him and asks where there sacrifice is. Abraham’s response is God will provide to his son. As Abraham is binding his son to sacrifice him he trust the Lord will provide. In verse 22:11-13 God provides.
“But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied.“Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.”
Abraham then says this: “And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen. “Genesis 22:14
God is the God wonders he provides and takes care of the ones he loves. Just like Abraham God provides for us in our daily lives. When we have needs, are afraid or we have questions we can bring them before God. When God whispers to you, we pray that you will listen to his direction, even if it’s scary. For God’s path will always lead you in the right direction. And just like God provided for Abraham, he will provide for you.
